Local Activities II: Portugal

In Portugal, AAUTS decided to organize a full week of workshops in March 2022 for more than 30 young people of Quinta do Mocho neighbourhood. Participants could learn how to express their feelings through movement and dance and had the opportunity to create a collaborative graffiti. The brainstorming on inclusion that had been done during the Training has been replicated during one of the workshops and the words that participants stated have been used to create lyrics for a rap song. During the workshops, participants could also know more about the history of hip hop and the personal and professional experience of different migrant artists. The objectives of the Local Activities have been achieved and participants had the opportunity to reflect on discriminations that suffer migrants and different ways we can promote migrant inclusion through the elements of urban art.

Concerning the visibility activity, it took place on June 5 at The Hood, a space created outside of a shopping centre on the outskirts of Lisbon, and almost 150 people attended it. At the beginning they were surprised because they didn’t expect a similar activity, but then they were amazed and interacted with the members of the team to know more about the project, activity and the Erasmus+ Programme.
