ASOCIACIÓN INICIATIVA INTERNACIONAL JOVEN (SPAIN)


Aso­ciación Ini­cia­ti­va Inter­na­cional Joven (Youth Inter­na­tion­al Ini­tia­tive Asso­ci­a­tion) is an NGO from Mála­ga (Spain) cre­at­ed in 2003 from a group of youths who after par­tic­i­pat­ing in inter­na­tion­al pro­grammes and activ­i­ties, con­clud­ed that these expe­ri­ences had been very impor­tant to change their life. There­fore, they decid­ed to share them with oth­er young peo­ple, col­lec­tives and asso­ci­a­tions, to enhance the inter­est in par­tic­i­pat­ing in inter­na­tion­al pro­grams and exchanges, learn­ing lan­guages, real­iz­ing vol­un­tary work, rais­ing aware­ness, tol­er­ance and respect for oth­er cul­tures, etc. there­by con­tribut­ing to per­son­al and pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment of young peo­ple and adults. The mis­sion of the organ­i­sa­tion is to con­tribute to the com­pre­hen­sive devel­op­ment and improve­ment of the qual­i­ty of life of cit­i­zens, espe­cial­ly young peo­ple. We work at local and inter­na­tion­al lev­el in the fol­low­ing areas of inter­ven­tion: (1) Par­tic­i­pa­tion and Vol­un­teer­ing; (2) Cul­ture of Peace and Inter­cul­tur­al­i­ty; (3) Gen­der Equal­i­ty; (4) Sport and Healthy Life; (5) Art and Cre­ativ­i­ty; (6) Per­son­al devel­op­ment and entrepreneurship.


ASSOCIAÇÃO DE ARTISTAS URBANOS E DE TRANSFORMAÇÃO SOCIAL – AAUTS (PORTUGAL)


AAUTS is an artis­tic and cul­tur­al asso­ci­a­tion, found­ed in 2019 by a group of urban artists, event pro­mot­ers and teach­ers who decid­ed to cre­ate their own enti­ty after par­tic­i­pat­ing in local and inter­na­tion­al projects that made them see how urban art can be a valu­able socio-edu­ca­tion­al tool of inclu­sion and devel­op­ment for the con­struc­tion of a more just, inclu­sive, cre­ative and inno­v­a­tive soci­ety. The organ­i­sa­tion’s mis­sion is to cre­ate artis­tic-edu­ca­tion­al envi­ron­ments that fos­ter the inte­gral devel­op­ment of young artists and raise aware­ness of the pow­er of art, in its rela­tion­ship with the city, as a tool for empow­er­ment, inclu­sion and inno­va­tion. Among the main activ­i­ties devel­oped by the enti­ty, we can men­tion: (1) Work­shops and Train­ing Cours­es for young peo­ple, artists and com­mu­ni­ty lead­ers; (2) Pro­duc­tion of rap music, videos and artis­tic per­for­mances on themes relat­ed to inclu­sion, com­mu­ni­ty devel­op­ment and social trans­for­ma­tion; (3) Inter­ven­tions in pub­lic space through mural­ism and graf­fi­ti; (4) Activ­i­ties of edu­ca­tion in val­ues; (5) Con­sti­tu­tion of col­lab­o­ra­tive net­works with artists, asso­ci­a­tions, schools, uni­ver­si­ties and oth­er organisations.


SOL’OEIL D’AFRIK (TOGO)


Sol’Oeil d’Afrik is an artis­tic and cul­tur­al asso­ci­a­tion based in Lomé (Togo), offi­cial­ly reg­is­tered in Decem­ber 2015. It has been found­ed by young Togolese dance pro­fes­sion­als who want­ed to con­tribute to enrich­ing and enhanc­ing African cul­tur­al her­itage through dance. After par­tic­i­pat­ing in inter­na­tion­al meet­ings and exhi­bi­tions, they decid­ed to cre­ate the asso­ci­a­tion to pool their efforts, com­bine syn­er­gies, exchange good prac­tices and car­ry out research, project and activ­i­ties to pro­tect African art and make it known to the world. Since its cre­ation, Sol’Oeil d’Afrik has orga­nized work­shops and train­ing cours­es for pro­fes­sion­als in the fields of art and cul­ture, edu­ca­tion­al and aware­ness projects using urban art as a tool for inclu­sion and devel­op­ment, dance class­es and work­shops in civ­il pris­ons, uni­ver­si­ties, com­mu­ni­ty spaces and schools. The organ­i­sa­tion col­lab­o­rates with dif­fer­ent insti­tu­tions such as the Uni­ver­si­ty of Lomé, the French Embassy and the French Insti­tute in Togo.


ASSOCIAZIONE CULTURALE ESPRESSIONE HIP HOP (ITALY)


It is a non-prof­it socio­cul­tur­al asso­ci­a­tion cre­at­ed in the sum­mer of 2012 by an infor­mal group of young urban artists from the city of Alba and its sur­round­ing areas (Freesteps Crew). Cur­rent­ly it has more than 60 mem­bers of all ages, social class­es, back­grounds and cul­tures. The aim of the enti­ty is to pro­mote hip hop cul­ture, and all its artis­tic man­i­fes­ta­tions, being a tool for com­mu­ni­ca­tion, expres­sion and com­pre­hen­sive devel­op­ment. The orga­ni­za­tion rec­og­nizes the impor­tance of the street as a meet­ing point for the exchange of ideas and infor­ma­tion flow. Its pro­fes­sion­als work with chil­dren and young peo­ple, among whom there are peo­ple at risk of social exclu­sion and/or com­ing from oth­er coun­tries, to improve their com­pe­tences, help them achiev­ing their goals and pro­mote social inclu­sion. Among the activ­i­ties, we can under­line: the inter­na­tion­al event Straight from the Heart, the sum­mer camp for chil­dren and teenagers and sev­er­al train­ings and cours­es of break­ing, pop­ping, musi­cal pro­duc­tion, graf­fi­ti and Dying at dif­fer­ent lev­els (basic, inter­me­di­ate and advanced).


INICIATIVA DE DESARROLLO EDUCATIVO ARTÍSTICO Y SOCIAL ONG — IDEAS (GUATEMALA)


It is an NGO based in Guatemala City, that was found­ed in 2018 by urban artists, youth work­ers and social edu­ca­tors with pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence in oth­er orga­ni­za­tions that felt the need to cre­ate an asso­ci­a­tion that includes artists of the dif­fer­ent ele­ments of hip hop cul­ture with the pur­pose of con­tribut­ing to the trans­for­ma­tion of the soci­ety and the improve­ment of the qual­i­ty of life of the Guatemalan pop­u­la­tion, espe­cial­ly of the youth. Among the activ­i­ties of the organ­i­sa­tion, we can under­line: cre­ation of train­ing and ori­en­ta­tion cours­es for young peo­ple, actions of aware­ness and edu­ca­tion in val­ues, vio­lence pre­ven­tion and peace­ful con­flict res­o­lu­tion, devel­op­ment of inter­na­tion­al train­ing pro­grammes and activ­i­ties, pro­mo­tion of local, nation­al and inter­na­tion­al vol­un­teer­ing and col­lab­o­ra­tion with oth­er pub­lic and/or pri­vate enti­ties. The main socio-edu­ca­tion­al tools of inclu­sion and social trans­for­ma­tion are art, in par­tic­u­lar urban art and hip hop ele­ments, with an empha­sis in dance, and culture.


KIDS BREAKING LEAGUE FOUNDATION — KBL (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA)


Kids Break­ing League (KBL) Foun­da­tion is an organ­i­sa­tion found­ed in 2017 by Vic­tor Alicea (Kid Glyde), an inter­na­tion­al­ly renowned break­ing dancer. KBL brings togeth­er dif­fer­ent coach­es and instruc­tors from break­ing and urban dance groups and schools in New York, New Jer­sey and Con­necti­cut. It was cre­at­ed with the aim of sup­port­ing the pro­fes­sion­al­iza­tion of young artists to make their pas­sion their pro­fes­sion and change their lives by devel­op­ing as peo­ple and pro­fes­sion­als. Its mot­to is “chang­ing lives one head­spin at a time”. The organ­i­sa­tion works as a plat­form designed for teenagers and young peo­ple to express their emo­tions through dance and get out of their com­fort zone. Break­ing is the socio-edu­ca­tion­al tool used to teach young peo­ple to be and believe in them­selves so that they can devel­op as indi­vid­u­als and pro­fes­sion­als and put their com­pe­tences at the ser­vice of the com­mu­ni­ty. KBL organ­is­es break­ing train­ing cours­es, events, exhi­bi­tions, work­shops and com­pe­ti­tions, includ­ing a break­ing league for kids and young people.
